Romans 12:1-2

"NEW YEAR DEDICATION"

 

12 I appeal to you therefore, brethren, and beg of you in view of [all] the mercies of God, to make a

 

decisive dedication of your bodies [presenting all your members and faculties] as a living sacrifice,

 

holy (devoted, consecrated) and well pleasing to God, which is your reasonable (rational, intelligent)

 

service and spiritual worship.

 

 

² Do not be conformed to this world (this age), [fashioned after and adapted to its external, superficial

 

customs], but be transformed (changed) by the [entire] renewal of your mind [by its new ideals and

 

its new attitude], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what is the good and acceptable and perfect

 

will of God, even the thing which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His sight for you]. 

 

DEAR PRECIOUS BELIEVER; THIS MORNING SHOULD BEGIN THE NEW YEAR, NOT WITH RESOLUTIONS, BUT DEDICATION, THE DEDICATION OF YOUR LIVES.

 

PRESENTING YOURSELF TO HIM, A LIVING WILLINGLY VESSEL FOR HIM TO USE FOR HIS GLORY. IN ORDER THAT YOU WILL NO LONGER BE CONFORMED TO THIS AGE, BUT TRANSFORMED BY THE RENEWAL OF YOUR MIND.

 

IT IS THIS WRITER'S PRAYER; THAT GOD DANCES AND SINGS OVER YOU WITH GREAT JOY, AND THAT YOU DANCE WITH GOD THIS NEW YEAR!

 

¹⁷ The Lord your God is in the midst of you, a Mighty One, a Savior [Who saves]!

 

He will rejoice over you with joy; He will rest [in silent satisfaction] and in His love He will be silent

 

and make no mention [of past sins, or even recall them]; He will exult over you with singing.
